Michael Dennis Gordon

(January 3, 1953 – March 16, 2021)

Mike was born on Jan. 3, 1953 in Dallas, TX to James T. and Wacil (Kirk) Gordon. He went home to be with the Lord on March 16, 2021.

Mike was a general contractor by trade and a Renaissance man at heart. There wasn't anything he could not build. He enjoyed woodworking and remodeling. He created many beautiful works with his hands. He was a lover of the great outdoors and wide-open spaces. He liked to fish, hunt, and be at one with the land. He loved history and a good debate. He guided his loved ones through life with sound advice and his "Dad-isms".

Mike was a pillar of strength to his family who loved him dearly. He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Janis Mercer Gordon; daughter – Jennifer Cryer and husband Darren; son – James Gordon; son – Wade Smith; son – Chad Smith; Grandchildren – Austin, Caleb, Kaylie, Colin, Carsen, & Sloan; Sister – Susanne Merideth and husband Paul; and a host of family members and friends.

Memorial services will be held on Friday, April 2, 2021 at 2:00 pm in the J.E. Keever Chapel of Ennis. Officiating – Pastor Matt Zamudio.
