Michael Dwayne Hammonds, 65, passed away on Tuesday, August 25, 2020 in Tyler, Texas.

Michael was born on July 2, 1955 in Frankfurt, Germany to Jack Edward and Vivian Estelle (Vick) Hammonds.  He grew up in Ennis and attended Ennis High School.

Michael worked for WalMart for over thirty-two years as a diesel mechanic; previously he had worked for SPRR in Ennis and LTV in the Grand Prairie Plant.  Michael was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church.  Michael enjoyed fishing and Harley-Davidson motorcycles.

Michael leaves behind his loving family including sons: Donald Jack Hammonds and Michael Alan Hammonds; two grandchildren; brothers: Larry Hammonds and wife, Linda and Jack L. Hammonds and wife, Charlotte; sisters: Sandra McDonald and husband, Edward and Vickie Carlson and husband, James; sister-in-law, Margie Hammonds along with a host of extended family, friends and co-workers.

Michael is preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Robert L. Hammonds.

Visitation will be held on Friday, August 28, 2020 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary of Ennis.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2020 at 2 p.m. in the King Cemetery in Aley, Texas under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc.
