Michael J. Sibley, 82, passed away in Waxahachie, Texas, on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, with his wife at his side.

He was born to Shirley Arden and Quata (Prestidge) Sibley on March 23, 1943. He married the love of his life, Mary Ann Zmolik on February 8, 1964 and were married over 61 years and have a son, Michael David.

He graduated from Ennis High School in 1961. He worked for EBF, Leggett and Platt, ran Sibley's Texaco Station, Sibley's Gun and Reel Shop, ran Babcock Brothers Automotive Store and hired out to Southern Pacific Railroad in 1968, and retired from Union Pacific Railroad on March 1, 2003 after 35 years. He was an outdoorsman, gunsmith, coach, gardener, jogger, metal detector and had a love of hummingbirds and cardinals. He was also a member of Baylor Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann, son, Michael David Sibley and wife, Susie; brothers: Edd Sibley and wife, Linda, Larry Sibley and wife, Martha; sisters: Judy O'Brien and husband, Jimmy and Anita Spicer and husband, Doug; sister-in-laws: Rhea Ann Sibley, Cathy Pruitt and Linda Zmolik and a host of extended family and friends..

Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Shirley and Quata Sibley, brothers: Joe Dean Sibley, Darrell Sibley, Lynn Arden Sibley; numerous nieces and nephews.

He was a faithful, devoted loving servant, husband and father.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary of Ennis.

A Celebration of Michael's life will be held on Thursday, August 28, 2025, at 10 a.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary Chapel of Ennis with Rev. Chet Hensley officiating. Pallbearers will be Keith Sibley, Hunter Sibley, Brett Sibley, Jake Sibley, Guy Shaw Sibley and Marty Todd Zmolik. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc.

The family requests in lieu of flowers donations be given to St. Jude foundation , The Shriner's or the charity of your choice.
