Mildred Verna Martin, 91, passed away in Ennis, Texas on Friday, March 15, 2024.

Mildred was born in Ennis, Texas on March 15, 1933, to Kenneth Emmett and Verna (Phillips) Kemp, Sr. Mildred grew up in Palmer and graduated from Palmer High School in 1951. She married Richard Doyle Martin, Sr. and they made their home in Palmer.

Mildred was a member of the Fundamental Baptist Church in Palmer.

Mildred is survived by a daughter-in-law, Laurie Martin; niece, Brenda Hill; nephews: Charles Kemp and Donnie Martin; special family members: Annette and Gary Johnson and Mary Martin; grandchildren: Richard Alan Martin, Shree Fulton and husband, Wayde, Marcus Martin and wife, Kristen and Marshall Martin and wife, Kenndale; six great-grandchildren: five great-great-grandchildren and a host of extended family and friends.

Mildred is preceded in death by her parents, brother, Kenneth Kemp, Jr. children Steven Martin and Richard Martin, Jr.

Memorial services will be held on Sunday, March 17, 2024, at 3 p.m. in the Fundamental Baptist Church of Palmer with Rev. James Smith officiating.
