Mildred Honza Patak, 92, passed away in Ennis, Texas on Saturday, June 25, 2022.

Mildred was born in Ennis, Texas on February 27, 1930, to Frank John and Anna (Dvorak) Honza. Mildred grew up in Ennis and attended Ennis High School.  On February 12, 1949, Mildred married the love of her life, Edwin F. Patak and they made their home in Ennis.

Mildred was a talented seamstress and created many lovely items for family and friends. Mildred was a member of St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church of Ennis and KJZT.  Mildred loved each and every one of her family and they all knew how deeply she cared for them. Mildred was a master gardener whether flowers or vegetables hers were always lovely.

Mildred leaves behind a large and loving family including daughters: Darlene Penrod and husband, Bobby and JoAnn Wester and husband, Jerry; grandchildren: Chad Wester and wife, Elizabeth, Todd Penrod and wife, Rachel, Julie Penrod Thompson and husband, Greg and Lezlee Wester Hernandez and husband, Joel; great-grandchildren: Cooper Penrod, Carson Penrod, Brayden Thompson, Wyatt Thompson, BriAnn Wester Howell and husband, Dylan, KayLee Wester, Sophia Hernandez, Cole Hernandez, Abby White and Emma White; great-great-grandchild, Eleanor Howell; sister, Agnes Garrard; sisters-in-law: Leona Honza and Geraldine Spaniel and a host of extended family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Edwin F. Patak on December 21, 1994, three brothers, Frankie Honza, Raymond Honza and Charlie Honza and brother-in-law, G.W. Garrard, sisters-in-law: Georgie Honza and Mary Honza.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 28, 2022, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. with Rosary at 7 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary Chapel of Ennis.

Mass of the Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, June 29, 2022, at 10 a.m. at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church. Pallbearers will be Chad Wester, Todd Penrod, Joel Hernandez, Carson Penrod, Dylan Howell and Brayden Thompson. Honorary pallbearers will be Cooper Penrod, Wyatt Thompson, Cole Hernandez, Greg Thompson, BriAnn Howell, KayLee Wester and Sophia Hernandez.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the Bristol Hospice for making our mother's final days so comfortable and peaceful; the doctors and nurses at Ennis Regional Hospital and nurses and aides at Legend Oaks Ennis who provided professional care, compassion or just a sweet hello to Ms. Mildred.  To her phone buddies Geraldine, Jennifer, Theresa and Polly she truly enjoyed talking to each of you.
