Morris Gene Magness, 88, passed away in Bristol, Texas on Monday, May 10, 2021.

Morris was born in Zoe, Oklahoma on April 10, 1933 to Marvin Lynnard and Leona Devoin (Buchanan) Magness.  He grew up in Zoe Oklahoma and attended school there.  Morris moved to Bristol in 1976 where he was a lifelong resident.  He was a big part in the upbringing and a staple in the Bristol Community.  On December 19, 2002 he married June Belcher and they made their home in Poteau, Oklahoma.  Morris served his country proudly in the United State Army during the Korean War.

Morris was the owner of Magness Cabinet Shop and Magness Molding and Millwork from 1961 until 2005.  He was a member of First Baptist Church and the Lions Club in Oklahoma.  Morris enjoyed gardening, bar-b-queing with family and friends, antique cars, his cattle and hay and horse drawn carriages.

Morris is survived by his wife, June Magness; sons: Thomas W. Magness and wife, Kandee, Donnie R. Magness and wife, Terri, Lonnie R. Magness, Ronnie R. Magness and wife, Norma; daughter, Pashia Blalock and husband, Angel Ovalle; seven grandchildren: Derrick James Thompson, Catherine Paige Becker, Matthew Justin Blalock, Kenneth Magness, Thomsa Magness, Jr., Eva Magness and Makayla Magness; six great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren and a host of extended family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wives: Eva Leon Magness and Gwenlyn Magness; brothers: William Magness and Nobel Magness and sister, Christine Gilbert.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 13, 2021 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary of Ennis.

A Celebration of his life will be held on Friday, May 14, 2021 at 10 a.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary Chapel in Ennis.  Pallbearers will be Victor Ovalle, Donnie Dixon, Cash Spurgeon, Bob Smith, Charles Ray Spurgeon and Robert Medina.  Honorary pallbearer will be Doug Spurgeon.  Interment will follow in the Bristol Cemetery under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc.
