In Loving Memory of Moses Sakai Obeketang

It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Moses Sakai Obeketang, a beloved husband, father, son, brother, and friend. Moses departed this world on May 31, 2026, at Ennis Regional Hospital, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and warmth that will forever be cherished by all who knew him.

Born on January 13, 2000, in the beautiful islands of Koror, Palau, Moses was a beacon of light and joy from the very beginning. He was the cherished son of Flora and Gordon Obeketang and was raised in a loving, close-knit family whose bond remained strong throughout his life. He shared a special connection with his siblings—Tiffany, Candace, Ochob, Livybelle, Wanda, and Liandfield—who were among his greatest sources of strength, laughter, and love.

Above all else, Moses was a devoted family man. His greatest pride and deepest joy were his three beloved sons: Ezequiel Salii (3), Gordon Kulas (1), and Zacchariah Tarkong (11 months). He cherished every moment spent with them and embraced fatherhood with unwavering love and dedication. Alongside his wife of four years, Faith Marie Shields, he built a home filled with love, laughter, and treasured memories.

Moses found happiness in life's simple blessings. He loved fishing, spending time with family and friends, and watching anime during quiet evenings. Those closest to him knew that whether he was sharing a meal, telling stories, or simply enjoying a peaceful day with loved ones, Moses valued togetherness above all else.

What truly distinguished Moses was the way he cared for others. He possessed a warm smile, a generous spirit, and a heart that seemed to have room for everyone. Even during his own struggles, he was always willing to lend a helping hand, offer encouragement, or provide comfort to those in need. His kindness was genuine, his love was unconditional, and his loyalty to family and friends never wavered.

Though his life was far too short, Moses's impact was immeasurable. He leaves behind a legacy of compassion, strength, and love that will continue to live on through his children, his family, and the many lives he touched. The memories he created and the bonds he forged will remain a source of comfort and inspiration for years to come.

Moses is lovingly remembered by his parents, Flora and Gordon Obeketang; his wife, Faith Marie Shields; his sons, Ezequiel Salii, Gordon Kulas, and Zacchariah Tarkong; his siblings, Tiffany, Candace, Ochob, Livybelle, Wanda, and Liandfield; as well as numerous extended family members and dear friends who will miss him beyond words.

A celebration of Moses's life will be held at J.E. Keever Mortuary in Ennis, Texas, where family and friends will gather to honor his memory, celebrate his life, and share the stories that made him so deeply loved.

While our hearts mourn his passing, we find comfort in knowing that his love remains with us. His spirit will continue to shine through the lives he touched, the family he cherished, and the memories that will live on forever.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 11, 2026, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary of Ennis with Rosary at 7 p.m.

Mass of the Christian Burial will be held on Friday, June 12, 2026, at 10 a.m. in St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church of Ennis. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc.
