In Loving Memory of Nelda "Claudine" Orman

April 27, 1938 – June 23, 2026

Nelda Claudine Orman, 88 of Rosser, TX, was called home to be with the Lord and Savior on June 23, 2026. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend who was the heart of her family offering unconditional love, wisdom, encouragement, and strength to everyone around her.

Claudine was born on April 27, 1938, in Freestone County, Texas, to Claude Leonard Laningham and Mamie Ora (Walker) Laningham. She was raised among generations of hardworking East Texas families whose roots in Freestone County stretch back to the late 1800s. The Laningham and Walker families were known for their strong faith, deep connection to their community, and dedication to family. Claudine carried these traits with her throughout her life learning early, the importance of resilience, compassion, and caring for others.

On October 26, 1957, Claudine married Lanny Ross Orman Sr., and together they built a life centered on faith, family, hard work, and devotion. The couple lived in Ennis for many years where they raised their three children: Cynthia Lynn, Lanny Ross Jr., and Pamela Jean. They enjoyed being involved with their community, local youth softball league, girl scouts troops, and participated in many SOKOL activities before moving to Rosser in late 1983.

Claudine found joy in family gatherings, sharing stories, caring for those she loved, and creating a home where everyone felt welcome. She especially loved gardening and took pride in caring for her flowers and plants, always finding beauty in watching them grow. A faithful woman, Claudine was a longtime member of Rosser United Methodist Church. Her unwavering love for her family & strong faith are what provided her with the strength she needed during life's unexpected challenges. The reassurance and trusting of God's plan is a beautiful legacy that is passed down to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, as we may not always understand his plan, but knowing that during times of struggle – he will carry us!

In her later years, Claudine made her home at Legend Oaks Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Waxahachie, where she was surrounded by caring staff, formed many special friendships with fellow residents, and staff. The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the caregivers and staff at Legend Oaks who provided compassionate care, kindness, and friendship during her time there. We are also deeply thankful to the team at Bristol Hospice for the kindness, comfort, and support they provided during her final journey. We will forever be grateful for the love, dignity, and respect shown by both the Legend Oaks and Bristol Hospice teams.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Lanny Ross Orman Sr.; her daughter, Cynthia Lynn Davidson; great grandson Zane Albert Zett; great granddaughter Lily Lynne Orman and other beloved family members who welcome her to her forever home.

Claudine is survived by her son Lanny Orman Jr. and his wife Kristi, daughter Pam Corder and her husband Shannon; grandchildren Casey Escoto and husband Tony, Brittany Zett and husband Zak, Garrett Orman and wife Jess, Collin Corder and wife Jessica, and Triniti Corder; great-grandchildren Ethan Escoto, Easton Zett, and Emma Escoto; along with extended family members and many dear friends who will forever cherish her memory.

The family would like to thank everyone for the prayers, love, support, and kindness shown during this difficult time.

In lieu of flowers, please celebrate her life by performing a thoughtful act of kindness and carrying forward the warmth and generosity she brought to those around her.

A visitation will be held on Monday, June 29, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at J.E. Keever Mortuary in Ennis, with a Memorial Service to follow immediately at 2:00 p.m.

Private cemetery services for the immediate family will be held at Myrtle Cemetery Chapel under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc.
