Pablo Pena Alvarez, 75, passed away in Waxahachie, Texas, on Wednesday, July 26, 2023.

Pablo was born in Ennis, Texas, on June 23, 1948, to Anselmo and Baudelia (Pena) Alvarez. Pablo grew up in Ennis. In 1965 he married Connie Lopez, and they made their home in Ennis.

Pablo worked for Overhead doors for thirteen years as a forklift operator and for Better Bath for fifteen years as a forklift operator. Pablo enjoyed fishing, dancing, and any kind of card games. Pablo loved his family and loved spending time with them.

Pablo is survived by his wife of 56 years, Connie Lopez; son, Martin Alvarez; daughters: Tammy Espino and husband, Hector, Theresa Alvarez, Brittney Alvarez and Jessica Alvarez/Patty; twenty grandchildren: fifteen great-grandchildren; brothers: Feliz Alvarez, Johnny Alvarez, Gonzalo Alvarez; sisters: Inez Fira, Isbella Olalde, Dominga Alvarez, Ophelia Diaz, Diane Alvarez, Virginia Aguilar, Alma Sandoval and Mary Alvarez along with a host of extended family and friends.

Pablo is preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Tony and Jesse and sisters: Maria Louise and Blanch.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 30, 2023, from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary with Rosary at 4 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary of Ennis.

Mass of the Christian Burial will be held on Monday, July 31, 2023, at 10 a.m. in the St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church with Father John Dick as celebrant. Pallbearers will be Raymond Gonzales, Julian Tobar, Rocky Fira, Justin Alvarez, Aaron Sandoval, Noel Sandoval and Joel Sandoval.  Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc.
