Patricia 'Trisha' Day Hodges

Patricia 'Trisha' Day Hodges, 72, of Ennis, Texas, passed away peacefully on February 27, 2026, surrounded by her loved ones.

Trisha was born on September 6, 1953, in Greenville, Mississippi, to John Kenneth Day and Joann Ely Day. From an early age, she was known for her warm spirit and genuine love for people. She married her beloved husband, Ted Hodges, in 1979, and together they welcomed their only son, Blake, in 1981.

Trisha had a lifelong love for children and found great joy in nurturing and encouraging others. As an early childhood educator, she made every child feel seen, valued, and deeply loved. Teaching was more than a profession — it was her calling, reflected in the patience, kindness, and encouragement she shared with everyone she met.

Trisha never met a stranger and had a special gift for turning simple conversations into meaningful connections. A quick trip to H-E-B often became a joyful reunion, as she stopped to visit with everyone she recognized, making each person feel seen and important. Her warmth, laughter, and genuine interest in others left lasting impressions wherever she went.

Faith was the steady foundation of Trisha's life. She served faithfully in her church community at the First Methodist Church of Ennis, always willing to help wherever there was a need. Whether working with youth, supporting events, or serving quietly behind the scenes, she lived out her faith daily through acts of kindness, compassion, and generosity.

For twenty-five years, Trisha devoted herself wholeheartedly to caring for her dearest husband, Ted. With strength, patience, and grace, she was his constant source of comfort and support. Her faithful devotion was a beautiful reflection of the vows she held sacred and the deep love she carried in her heart.

She is survived by her son, Blake Hodges, and his wife, Stacy; her grandchildren: Daylee, Landon, and Cameron; her brother, Kenneth Day, and his wife, Kathy; her sisters: Dabney Day and Lisa Day Mascagni, and Lisa's husband, Edmund.

Trisha is preceded in death by her spouse, Ted Hodges, her father, John Kenneth Day and her mother, Joann Ely Day.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 11, 2026 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at J. E. Keever Mortuary, 408 N. Dallas Street, Ennis, TX.

A celebration of her life will be held on Thursday, March 12, 2026 at 10 a.m. in the First Methodist Church of Ennis, 300 N. Sherman Street, Ennis, TX with Dr. Larry Jinks officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the First Methodist Church of Ennis towards the Ted & Trisha Memorial Children's Library , that will be established at the church in their honor.
