Paul Ray Barrett, age 68, was called home to be with the Lord on Friday, November 1, 2024.

He was born on May 2, 1956, in Beaumont, TX, to James Paul and Helen Barrett.

Paul was beloved by many and is preceded in death by his parents, James Paul and Helen Barrett, and his sister, Mary Elaine Barrett.

Paul attended Southwestern Assemblies of God College in Waxahachie, TX, and worked in various roles, his favorite being a security guard for the Dallas Zoo. His passion for Jesus Christ was evident to everyone he met. Above all, his dedication to attending church on Sundays and raising his children guided by the Word of God was his greatest priority. He enjoyed working with his hands, listening to his cassette tapes and vinyl records, and watching cartoons.

Paul is survived by his wife of 31 years, June Barrett; daughter, Jessica Staubach, and husband, Trevor; son, Jeremy Barrett; brother, John Barrett and wife, Barbara; brother Jim Barrett and wife, Tammy; sister, Lois Barrett; as well as many cherished nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

A viewing will be held on Wednesday, November 6, 2024, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at J.E. Keever Mortuary, 200 West Jefferson Street, Palmer, TX 75152. Funeral services will take place on Thursday, November 7, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at J. E. Keever Mortuary (Palmer Chapel), followed by interment in Palmer Cemetery.
