Peggy Joy Jones was born to Cleaburne and Lillie Mae Sutton on April 1st, 1940. She left the family she adored to be with her Lord and Savior August 11, 2026.

Peggy  is survived by her children, Johnny Jones and wife, Rita. Sandra Yant and husband, Tory. Becky McBride and husband, Ray. Gerald Jones and wife, Jennifer, Wendy Johnson,Chris Jones and wife Tammy, Timmy Jones and wife Jeanine. Grandchildren: Sharon Kay Collins and husband, Rusty. James Brown and wife, Felicia. Zachary Brown and wife, Amy. Kenny Jones, Michael McBride, Ashton Delarosa and husband, Jesse, Taylor Jones, and wife, Melissa, Samantha Howard and husband, Justin, Sarah Jones, Andie Plunkett and husband Paul, Meagan Wilson and husband Paul, Lorrie Rapp and husband Eric, Justin Jones and wife Taria, Daniel Jones, Brandon Jones, Kendra Reynolds, Madisan Whitlock. Great Grandchildren: Alicia Nalley and husband, Jordan, Elizabeth Nichols, Julia Garcia, Emma Brown, Korbin Brown, Savanna Brown, Hunter Brown and Jaylynn Brown. Kase Jones, Wyatt Jones, Walker Howard, Ezra Delarosa, Lilly and Gavin Plunkett, Madalyn and Henley Wilson, Mia and Miley Rapp, Tatiana Jay and Tara Jones, Jayce and Cayden Jones, Cesar McBride, Anthony McBride and Natalie McBride. Great Great Grandchildren: Jenna Nalley, Avery Nalley, and Brody Reynolds. Sister Eva Maultsby and many nieces and nephews.

Peggy is preceded in death by her husband Tommy Gerald Jones and granddaughter Erin Nicole Whitlock, sisters Jo Gail Phillips and Sharon Aday, brothers "Shorty" Sutton and Jack Sutton.

Peggy and Tom, better know as Bones and Moose, married November 15, 1957 in Austin, TX. Peggy worked for many years as an assistant to Dr. Arthur Haws for his veterinary practice in Austin, an administrative clerk for Central Freight lines, and as the church custodian at Bristol Baptist Church where she was a member for many years. She loved bowling, playing cards and dominoes with family and friends. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, and feeding people where most meals included her amazing homemade gravy and hot fudge cake. She was never afraid to tackle any home project or offer advice on how you should do your own. Peggy loved Jesus and was always ready to share Him with anyone she walked past. We will miss her forever and be eternally grateful for the way she loved each of us that she called her own.

Visitation will be held on Friday, August 14, 2026, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. in J.E. Keever Mortuary of Ennis, Texas.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at 12:30 p.m. in the Bristol Baptist Church, Bristol, Texas.
