Raymond attended George Washington Carver High School being a football/track star.  After graduating in 1962 he attended Prairie View College for a short term to enlist in the Navy, after serving his country he became a Los Angeles police officer for 30 years before retiring.  Raymond then went on to establish his own security guard business as well as being a security officer for Kaufman High School  which he loved dearly.  Raymond had an indescribable love for his family and adopted family ( The Castillo's)  as well as the Ennis Lions Football.

He is survived by his son Raymond Coleman III and wife of Houston; 5 grandkids; Ezekiel, Isaiah, Khalaya, Oshea and Rachel Coleman.  Adopted family Laticia Castillo, Kilven & Jazmyne Coleman, Dontay, Alijah & Kingston Echols. Sister; Jeannie Johnson, Carolyn Peoples and husband  Marhaold Sr, Phyllis Echols, Marla and Henry Jackson, Janice and Jimmy Hale. Brothers; James Coleman, Russell Robinson Jr.

Host of loving grandkids and nieces and nephews along with many relatives, special great nephews Dontay, Kingston and Alijah Echols.

Raymond Cato Coleman is preceded in death by his mother and stepfather, Lena & Russell Robinson, as well as his father Raymond Coleman Sr., and Stepmother Margarete Coleman and brother Lafayette Coleman.

Visitation will be held on Friday, February 26, 2021 from 1:30 p.m. until 4:30 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary of Ennis.
