Ricardo da Rocha Azevedo, 82, passed away in Ennis, Texas on Sunday, August 24, 2025.

Ricardo was born in Sao Paulo, Brazil on June 9, 1943, to Luis Geraldo da Rocha and Cecilia (Nobrega) Azevedo.

Ricardo was a mechanical engineer graduating Suma Cum Laud from Instituto Technologico da Aeronautica, as well as a Masters degree in Industrial Engineering from Kansas State University.

Ricardo married Kathryn Ingrid Norberg in 1968 in Prairie Village, Kansas.

Ricardo worked for several companies in Brazil and International Paper in the united States as well before Elk Corporation (now GAF) as a mechanical and industrial Engineer for many years.

Ricardo was a member of the St. Thomas Episcopal Church of Ennis. He enjoyed reading, playing bridge, dancing, music (classical, Brazilian and oldies) good food and drinks, and Brazilian soccer.

Ricardo is survived by his wife, Kathryn Azevedo; daughter, Celina R. Azevedo; sons: Roger Azevedo, Ricardo N. Azevedo, and Alexandre Azevedo; daughters-in-law: Angela Azevedo and Aviel M. Azevedo; seven grandchildren, and brother, Luis Azevedo.

Ricardo is preceded in death by his parents and one brother.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 28, 2025 from 5 p.m. until 6 p.m. in the St. Thomas Episcopal Church.

A Celebration of Resurrection service will be held on Thursday, August 28, 2025 at 6 p.m. in the St. Thomas Episcopal Church with Father Julian Borda as Celebrant

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, August 30, 2025 at 10 a.m. in Pleasant Valley Cemetery of Overland Park, Kansas under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc.
