Rita Mae Laza, 83, passed away in Tennessee Colony, Texas on Saturday, April 15, 2023.

Rita was born in Groesbeck, Texas on May 27, 1939, to Roy and Reval (Henery) Richardson. She grew up in Groesbeck and graduated high school there. In 1970 Rita married Joseph Laza and they made their home in Dallas.

Rita worked for Dallas ISD for over twenty-five years in the food service department. Rita loved gardening, yard work, painting gourds and crafting.

Rita is survived by sons: Bobby Liles, Gary Liles and wife, Diana Rabe and Glen Liles and wife, Dawn; daughter, Sheila Henderson and husband, Mark; eleven grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren and a host of extended family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Tony Richardson; sisters: Barbara Capps and Donna Rose and son, Davy Liles.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 19, 2023, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary of Ennis.

Graveside services will be held in Mt Olive Cemetery of Scurry on Thursday. April 20, 2023, at 10 a.m. under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc.
