Samuel L. Baer, AKA "Cossack TopHat", 65 was called home to Heaven on Monday, June 10, 2024, in Alma, Texas, his last moments were doing what he enjoyed which was riding his motorcycle his second love.

Samuel was born in Lafayette, Indiana, on July 17, 1958, and was officially adopted by Roy and Evelyn (Thompson) Baer who brought him to their home to where he was raised in Keene, Texas. His journey had many facets including being one of the Original 13 to a club he started with 12 others and only 3 remain. TopHat later found his home club with the "Cossacks" in 2022 where he found a true family. He loved riding motorcycles, golf and shooting his guns at his targets that he built out behind his clubhouse where he loved hosting his brothers, friends and family. He was loved by many through all walks of life and couldn't go anywhere without seeing someone he knew; he was also one of the most caring people you would ever meet and would give you the shirt of his back.

He is survived by his loving wife of 16 years, Heather Baer.

Siblings - Randy, Pam, Lynn, Elmer JR, and Lucy.

Children - Melissa, Dustin, Nikki, Benjamin and Samuel JR, and 10 grandchildren

He is preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Evelyn Baer

Siblings - Teddy, Laurina and Linda.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 18, 2024, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary of Ennis.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, Jun 19, 2024, at 2 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary Chapel of Ennis. Pallbearers will be Tuffy, Speedy, Tin Man, J.T., Mini Mike and Justus.  Interment will follow in Myrtle Cemetery under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc.
