Funeral services for Sandra Gentry Kimmer-Moss, 82, are pending with Keever Funeral home. A service is to be held in February at Foundation of Life Church, 2003 E. Ennis Ave., Ennis.

Ms. Kimmer died at Texoma Medical Center Wednesday, Jan. 14, after a brief Illness.

Born May 10, 1943, she was the daughter of Ernest L. and Mary Alice Gentry. She grew up in the Sand Lake community near Ennis, and being the youngest of 14 children, she was only a few years older than the first grandchildren born to her parents. As so, she grew up playing together on the farm with her nieces and nephews. Her older sisters thought of her as their "baby," and they loved and adored her as if she were a living doll. She had a great sense of humor and enjoyed teasing with her siblings and nieces and nephews.

She attended Ennis public schools and was a 1961 graduate of Ennis High School. After graduation, she moved to Ft. Worth and lived with her brother Albert and his family while attending business school. She worked in the office at Charlie Hillard Ford before moving back to Ennis. Later she worked for several years in sales at Reliable Life Insurance with her sister Patsy Stafford. On July 17, 1965, she married Edward Lee Kimmer, a veteran of the U.S. Army. The couple welcomed their first child, Gregory Dean, on Valentine's Day 1968. Their daughter, Jennifer Lee, arrived five years later on Jan. 19, 1973. The couple later divorced and after several years she met Bill Moss, who was her companion for more than 35 years.

She enjoyed crafting and being creative — and was known for being able to make something from nothing. She also was a collector of many items, with Mickey Mouse being among her favorites. She loved clipping newspaper comics that reminded her of family and then sharing them. She liked keeping up with distant family via social media and enjoyed online games, especially Bejeweled. She also enjoyed other gaming — and looked at a trip to a casino as the perfect getaway. She loved her family and often showed them by giving gifts. Her grandchildren knew if Granny was coming to visit, she would be bringing something special for them. Doing so and seeing their reactions brought her much happiness.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Jennifer Lee Kimmer Williams; her parents; eight sisters, Frances Fisher, Billie Holland, Ruby Allsup, Joy Barker, Ruth Benefield, Nita Good, Patsy Stafford and Mary Ellen Gentry, and five brothers, Albert Gentry, Charles Gentry, P.W. "Jinker" Gentry, E.L. "Sonny" Gentry Jr., and David Douglas Gentry.

Survivors include her companion, Bill Moss of Pottsboro; her son, Greg Kimmer of Pottsboro and former daughter-in-law Mikael Minor of Pottsboro; two granddaughters, Baylee Williams (and companion Michael Roberts) of Seven Points, and Emma Kimmer of Pottsboro; two grandsons, Benjamin Williams of Mesquite, and Breyan Kimmer of Pottsboro; a great-grandson, Jordyn Ray Sean Williams of Seven Points; two great-granddaughters, Ashlyn Faith Williams and Madelyn Hope Roberts, both of Seven Points, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at 3 p.m. in the First Methodist Church of Ennis.
