Sarah Catherine Haizlip Green passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her children and grandchildren on Sunday, February 25, 2024.

Sarah grew up in Paris, Texas with her mother and father; Severne Martin and Lucy Haizlip, where she graduated from Paris Junior College and then headed off to meet her best friend and soul mate, Louis B. Green, at Texas Christian University. They married in 1955 and had four children: Stephen, Lucy, Laura, and Stephanie. Sarah taught in the Dallas School District until 1974 when they moved to call Ennis home and she transferred to Waxahachie ISD for the next 28 years.  Once retired, Lou and Sarah enjoyed trips to Vegas, spending time with family, and relaxing in the ranch life in the home they built together.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her daughter Lucy, and her husband, Lou Green. She is survived by her children; Stephen and Lawana Green, Laura Green Zalkovsky, and Stephanie and Thomas Iven and her grandchildren; Amanda, Samantha, Joshua, Sean, Cassidy, Alyssa, Sami Jo, Tabatha, and Micheal as well as great grandchildren; Erin, Gabe, Brynlee, and Birdie.

Sarah enjoyed an amazing life as a devoted daughter, a loving wife, a supportive mother, a doting grandmother,  and an educator to many generations throughout the years.

Visitation will be held Thursday, Feb. 29, 2024 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. in the J. E. Keever Mortuary Chapel in Ennis.

Celebration of Sarah's life will be Friday, March 1, 2024 at 10 a.m., also in the J. E. Keever Chapel in Ennis.

Pallbearers are Thomas Iven, Darrell Coslin, Cody Gregg, Michael Green, Sean Green, and Joshua Cannon.
