In Loving Memory of Scarlet Tiner
Scarlet Tiner, of Ennis, Texas, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 4, 2026. She was born on January 2, 1962, at the old Ennis Hospital and made her home in the community she loved.
Scarlet began working at Jack in the Box at age 16. Through hard work and dedication, she advanced into management, overseeing three stores—one in Ennis and two in the surrounding area—before moving into a corporate position.
Scarlet was a member of Anthony Drive Baptist Church in Ennis. She had a special love for Tennessee and the beauty and peacefulness of its mountains. Living there for a time fulfilled one of her dreams, but the arrival of her first granddaughter brought her back home to Texas and the family she loved so dearly.
More than anything, Scarlet was a loving mother and grandmother. Her greatest joy was watching her sons grow and spending precious time with her grandchildren. She treasured their love and the many hours they shared together. Her grandchildren brought immeasurable happiness to her life, and the love she gave them will remain in their hearts forever.
Scarlet was preceded in death by her father, Mack Cable, who passed away earlier this year after a battle with cancer, and her younger sister, Misty Cable, who passed away in 1992. She is survived by her loving mother, Robbie Cable, of Ennis; her sons, Larry Tiner II and his wife, Kacie Tiner, of Ennis, and Stephen Shane Tiner and his wife, Julie Tiner; and her beloved grandchildren, Zoey Tiner, Jaxon Tiner, & Charlie Tiner.
She is also survived by her only living sister, Karen Hicks, and brother-in-law, Rodney Hicks, of Farmersville; her niece, Steffany Horton, and her husband, Jeff Garner, of Athens; and her great-niece and great-nephews, Hayleigh Reynolds, Hayden Horton, and Huck Horton. She is also survived by her niece, Erika Yager, and nephew, Scott Yager, both of Athens, and Scott’s daughter, Azilynn Yager; her aunts, Brenda Wagner, Pam Brown, Donna Nichols, and Tam Shaw; her uncle, Doug Cable; her cousin, Faye Micheals; and many other loving family members.
Scarlet will be remembered for her strength, her compassionate heart, her deep love for her family, and the tenderness she shared with those closest to her. Her mother has lost a cherished daughter, her sons have lost a devoted mother, her grandchildren have lost a grandmother who adored them, and her sister has lost someone whose place in her heart can never be filled.
Although Scarlet will be deeply missed, her family finds peace in knowing that she has been welcomed home into Heaven and now rests in the loving arms of Jesus. Her love will remain with them through the memories they shared, the family bonds she treasured, and every life she touched.
