In Loving Memory of Scott Anthony Kinzie

Scott Anthony Kinzie, a devout Christian whose life was a testament to faith, love, kindness, and humor, passed away on October 19, 2023. He was born on November 12, 1959, in Houston, Texas. His legacy of love, unwavering faith, and a good sense of humor will forever shine as a beacon of inspiration to all who had the privilege of knowing him. He is now home with Jesus and the many family members and friends of faith who have passed before him.

Scott's journey began in the town of Ennis, Texas, where he spent his formative years. After graduating from Ennis High School, he continued his education at Abilene Christian University where he met his future wife Rebecca. They met on March 13th 1979 and by March 31st 1979 after a few dates and a trip to Six Flags, after only 2 weeks of knowing each other and having absolutely no money, they logically began to talk about marriage. They married December 22, 1979 and built a lifelong friendship and love that was an example to many.

He was a dedicated family man, a loving husband, a nurturing father, and a devoted grandfather who cherished every moment with his loved ones. Scott always served his wife, Rebecca, faithfully. He opened doors for her, filled the car with gas, gave her a birthday month and honored her in every way. Rebecca was his rock and support in life, and together, they exemplified a love that was deep and unwavering. Scott's presence was a source of joy to many. He had a warm, welcoming demeanor that made everyone feel valued and loved. He always addressed people by their first names, showed genuine interest in their well-being, and had a way to make everyone feel important and valued.

In his leisure time, Scott enjoyed playing golf, fishing, watching sports, and spending quality time with friends and family. He found joy in these activities and cherished the funny stories that would inevitably come from his time with his loved ones.

Survivors include his loving and devoted wife of 43 years, Rebecca, who stood by his side through thick and thin, sharing in his unwavering faith and spreading love alongside him. Scott leaves behind many family members, including his sons, James and his wife Jennifer, Robert, and his three daughters, Charlotte, Catherine, and Campbell. Their shared memories of love, faith, laughter, and leisurely activities will forever be cherished.

In addition to his immediate family, Scott is survived by his parents, Dr. and Mrs. William B. Kinzie, who instilled in him the values of faith, love, and humor. He is also remembered by his three sisters and their loving husbands: Elaine and Lon Youngberg, Carol and Gary Spaniel, and Ann and Huel Jones. Scott's impact extended to his nieces, nephews, and cousins, who were all touched by his kindness, wisdom, and the laughter he brought into their lives.

Scott's passing leaves a void in the lives of those who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy of compassion, unwavering faith, and the ability to bring laughter into people's lives will live on in the hearts of all who were touched by his presence.

A celebration of Scott's life will take place on Saturday, November 4th at 11:00 AM at The Hills - Keller Campus , where friends and family will come together to honor the life of this extraordinary man who left an indelible mark on our hearts.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 27, 2023, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary Chapel of Ennis.
