Shane Edward Hvamstad
March 6, 1974 – October 20, 2025

Shane left this world on October 20, 2025, at the age of 51 in Ennis, Texas. He was surrounded by love and memories that will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew him.

Shane spent his childhood living in Texas and Wyoming with his mom and chosen family. Shane graduated from Tarkington High School in Cleveland, Tx with honors and a gpa of 4.086. After graduation he proudly served his country in the United States Navy, where he developed a deep sense of discipline and dedication that he carried throughout his life. After his service, he went on to pursue his lifelong career as a Stationary Engineer, but if you asked him, he would say he was a glorified thermostat watcher.

Above all else, Shane took the greatest pride in being Jessaca's husband. They shared 17 unforgettable years together. He believed in her endlessly, was her voice of reason and uplifted her daily. He was constantly inspiring her to embrace new challenges, pursue knowledge, and keep reaching for more with strength, confidence and most importantly - a purpose. Shane was extremely proud of Jessaca and made sure to tell her every day! Food was his true love language, and he had an undeniable gift in the kitchen—a gift his wife lovingly admits she didn't share. Thankfully for Jessaca, he took great joy and comfort in cooking for her, pouring his heart into every meal. Shane enjoyed western dancing with his Texas Angel, watching movies (especially at the theater), reading, star gazing, and listening to music. He was, without a doubt, Jessaca's biggest fan—her swing coach, caddy, and faithful golf cart driver all in one.

Shane's second favorite title was Uncle Shane aka "Oh Shane." He shared a loving, unique and magical bond with each of his "uncle" nieces; Mckinley, Paisley, Everley and Adaline and "uncle" nephews; Hutson and Stetson. He was inspired by their innocence, imaginations, their capacity to learn, and the love they had for him. Shane was the epitome of the word "Funcle" the fun uncle. The man always said yes, even when mom said no. He always had a pocket full of candy, was down for playing games, singing songs, looking for frogs, inspecting stuff under the microscope, and conducting science experiments. Uncle Shane never missed a birthday party or the eating of a good piece of cake.

Shane lived a life filled with curiosity, laughter, and quiet strength. He had a unique personality that grew on you with time. His dry sense of humor left many wondering if he were serious or joking, but those of us who knew him could be found laughing in the background. Everything he did and said was with purpose and passion. His mind was always exploring and seeking every opportunity to expand. He was loving, encouraging, and deeply devoted to those he cared about. He had an infinite imagination with a gift for storytelling, bringing every moment to life by leaving NO detail behind. You could end a conversation by knowing what they had for dinner last Thursday, and that the chef had a freckle on their pinky finger.

Upon falling in love with Jessaca, Shane became part of a large, vibrant, and loving family. A group of people he described as "A LOT" but he cherished all the time they spent together. He enjoyed living in the moment but took advantage of his gift behind the lens to capture life's precious moments. His keen eye for beauty combined with his passion for photography lines the walls of homes, sports bars and social media platforms worldwide.

Shane enjoyed many hobbies and spent most of his free time doing what he loved — playing billiards, darts and poker. It was more than a pastime for him; it was a way of connecting with people. His remarkable skill was matched only by his competitive spirit and his love for a good challenge, which always drew a crowd. He could spend hours lost in the strategic geometry of the game and cherished the satisfaction of a perfect game. Many admired his talents, willingness to teach, and his kind heart, which was always on display as he patiently guided new players, sharing his tips and tricks with a genuine desire to see them improve.

Shane's legacy will live on through the countless lives he touched with his humor, loyalty, and endless curiosity. His absence leaves an ache beyond words, but his memory will forever be a source of strength, love, and inspiration. He will be missed tremendously but we are grateful for every moment shared with him and will carry his memory in our hearts forever.

Shane is survived by his loving Wife, Jessaca Hope Smith Hvamstad of Ennis, TX; Daughter, Vivian Kremer of Huntsville, TX; Grandmother, Evelyn Griffin of Pavillion, WY; half-brother, Toby Nye of Thermopolis, WY. His loving in-laws: father, Scott and wife Bobbie Jean Smith of Scurry, TX; brother, Kameron and wife Jennifer Smith, and their three children, all of Scurry, TX; and sister, Tiffanie and husband Jordan Browning, and their three children all of Ennis, TX. His cherished chosen family members: Kathy Fenton of Pavillion, WY; Conor Jacobson and daughter of Cody, WY; Cory and Shylah Jacobson and their two children of Pavillion, WY; Jim and Kayla Fenton and their three children of Riverton, WY; and John J. Fenton of Thermopolis, WY. He is also remembered with love by his best friends, Lucy Hancock and children of Woodlands, TX, and Dr. Charles Weige and wife of Feltham, England.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Charlotte Whiddon of Tarkington, TX, and his loving grandfather, Marvin Griffin of Pavillion, WY.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, November 15, 2025 from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. at Te'Jun the Texas Cajun (301 S I-35E, Red Oak, TX 75154).
