Shawn Murphy, 40, passed away in Beaumont, Texas on Monday, February 6, 2023.

Shawn was born in Ennis, Texas, on June 14, 1982, to Rex and Faye (Brenton) Murphy. Shawn grew up in Ennis and graduated from Ennis High School in 1999. Shawn has lived in Ennis, Tyler and Beaumont for the last two years.

Shawn worked for Brookshire Stores in distribution and as a Maintenance Manager for MGM Hotel's. Shawn was a member of the Apostolic Church of Beaumont. He enjoyed cooking spending time with his family especially his children and the Dallas Cowboys.

Shawn is survived by his son, Shawn Murphy, Jr.; daughter, Imree Murphy; three children he raised: De'Kavian, Ahmiya and Chance; his father, Rex Murphy; brother, Dustin Eric Murphy and wife, Megan; sisters: Jennifer Gazelle and husband Craig and Dana Valek along with a host of extended family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Faye Murphy and brother, Rex Murphy, Jr.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, February 11, 2023, at 10 a.m. in Myrtle Cemetery under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc.
