Stanley J. Liska, 87, passed away on Friday, September 16, 2022, in Ennis, Texas.

Stanley was born in Boyce, Texas, on November 9, 1934, to Joseph Stanley and Mary (Malota) Liska. Stanley grew up in Ennis and graduated from Ennis High School in 1953. Stanley went on to receive a bachelor's degree in business from North Texas State University. On August 10, 1959, Stanley married the love of his life Barbara Almond, and they made their home in Garland before settling in Ennis. Stanley served his country proudly in the United States Army in Germany from 1953-1955.

Stanley began his career working for Decker Packing Company as a night foreman for five years until he went to work for his father, then purchased the Ennis Meat Market and served the community with delicious meats and Bar-b-que. He was a legend in Ennis for his special recipes.  Stanley was a member of the St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, KJT, Knights of Columbus, Sokol, the American Legion and served on the Polka Fest Committee. Family was the joy of his life, and he enjoyed spending time with each one of his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Stanley enjoyed riding horses and Polka Dancing.

Stanley is survived by his wife of over sixty-three years, Barbara Liska; sons: Mike Liska and wife, Nannette and Thomas "T-bone" Liska and wife, Debbie; daughter, Rhonda Liska; grandchildren: Paul Liska, Rusty Liska, Sarah Honza, Jarod Hunter, and Abby Westbrook; great-grandchildren: Logan, Reid, Holden, Greyson, Brody, Adelynn and Graham along with a host of extended family and friends.

Stanley is preceded in death by his parents, brother, Joe L. Liska and sister, Mildred Koehn.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 20, 2022, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. with Rosary at 7 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary of Ennis.

Mass of the Christian burial will be held on Wednesday, September 21, 2022, at 10 a.m. in St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church with Monsignor Leon Duesman as celebrant. Entombment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc.

Pallbearers will be: Paul Liska, Rusty Liska, Jarod Hunter, Greg Liska, Todd Liska, David Liska, Jimmy Liska and Mike Venable.
