Steven Hudspeth of Ennis, Tx. passed away on November 5, 2024, at the age of 60. Steven was born on October 25, 1964, in Abilene, Texas and moved to Ennis with his family in 1970.   Steven was a long-time member of Tabernacle Baptist Church.  He joined SOKOL and was an active member of the gymnastics program from age 6 to 15.  He attended Ennis High School where he played varsity tennis.  Steven is a graduate of Ennis High School in the class of 1983.

Following high school, he served in the U.S. Navy until 1986, building skills and experiences that he valued throughout his life. After his service, Steven pursued his talent for woodworking, working as a carpenter and finding satisfaction in his craft. He also worked for many years at Gebo's in Ennis, where he became a familiar face in the community.

Steven is preceded in death by his mother, Mary Louise Moreland Hudspeth. He is survived by his father, Ronald Hudspeth of Ennis; his sister, Debra Hinson, and her husband, Mark Hinson, of Ennis; his nephew, Austin Elliott Hinson, and his wife, Sarah Jane Hinson, of Round Rock; his niece, Ava Hinson of Dallas; and his niece, Lauren Hinson of Ennis.

Steven will be remembered by family and friends for his steady presence, practical skills, and dedication to his work. His absence leaves a gap in the lives of those who knew him well.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, December 7, 2024, at 11 a.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary Chapel of Ennis.
