Steven Dale Kitchens, 53, passed away on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, in Dallas, Texas.

Steven was born on March 30, 1972, to James Curtis and Carrie L. (Gelnar) Kitchens in Fort Riley, Kansas. Steven grew up in Ennis and graduated from St. John High School in 1991.

Steven worked for ABC Coating for over ten years as a Safety Manager. Steven loved spending time with his family, fishing, cooking and especially grilling. He loved spending time with friends, laughing and making them laugh. Working and restoring cars was one of his favorite things to do.

Steven is survived by his son, Tristan Kitchens; daughter, Brooklyn Kitchens; grandchildren: Sylas and Syren; his mother, Carrie Kitchens Boak; brothers: Scott Kitchens and wife, JoEllen and Andrew Kitchens; sister, Karine Kitchens; sister, Brandi Kitchens; nieces and nephews: Lauren, Adam Jordan, Steve M., Julianne and Jora along with a host of extended family and friends.

Steven is preceded in death by his father, James Curtis Kitchens and stepfather, Harkley Boak.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary of Ennis, with Rosary at 7 p.m.

Mass of the Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, May 1, 2025, at 10 a.m. in the St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church of Ennis. Honorary Pallbearers will be Patrick Slovak, Sammy Slovak, Danny Slovak, Vic Slovak, Henry Sanchez and Ray Montelongo. Interment to follow in St. Joseph Cemetery under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc.
