Teresa McCarthy joined her Lord and Savior on December 26, 2023. She was born October 18, 1959 in Ennis, Texas to James and Barbara Wilhoite.  Teresa was a proud graduate of Ennis High School and was employed by Elevate Brand Marketing in Dallas.  In November 2010, Teresa married Dan McCarthy, who she loved dearly.  Together, they made their home in Ennis.

Teresa's passion was her family.  She was especially proud of her grandchildren, who called her Mimi.  Teresa spent most of her time attending events with her husband, her children and grandchildren. Through her grandchildren's adventures, she enjoyed gymnastics meets, tennis matches, basketball games, baseball games, and anything else they decided to do.  She was always known as their number 1 fan, the loudest and proudest in the stands, cheering them on without fail.Teresa was a huge Ennis Lion fan and supporter.  She could also be found cheering on the Texas Rangers, the Texas Tech Red Raiders or the Aggies.  The highlight of her year was the Texas Rangers winning the World Series. She looked forward to traveling wherever life took her, but especially loved visiting Disney World.  Teresa loved without limits and was a devoted friend to many.

She is preceded in death by her father, James Wilhoite, grandparents, Bud and Edith Wooten.  Teresa and her forever mother-in-law, Evelyn Novotny, entered the gates of heaven just hours apart.

Teresa is survived by her husband, Dan McCarthy, daughter Hillary Laza and husband Scott Laza, son Jeremy Novotny and wife Tiffany Novotny, daughter Katie McCarthy and boyfriend Mike Goff, daughter Meghan McCarthy, grandchildren Hannah, Brady, Liam, Blaine, Grant, Mackenzie, Wyatt, and Arlin, mother Barbara Wilhoite, brother Tony Wilhoite and wife TJ, mother-in-law Pat, and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 2, 2023 from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Keevers Funeral Home in Ennis, Texas.  Services will follow at 2:00 PM. Pallbearers will be Trevor Wilhoite, Drew Wilhoite, Bel Cobbs, Grant Gilmore, Brady Laza, and Shawn Hogue. Honorary Pallbearer:  John Moore
