Terry Atwell Ray, 96, passed away in Ennis, Texas on Saturday, April 30, 2022.

Atwell was born in Ennis, Texas, on June 13th, 1925 to Thomas Arl and Josie Lee (Mitchell) Ray. He married Wanda Prestidge, and they made their home in Ennis.

Atwell proudly served in the United States Navy, then shortly after founded East Garrett Water Supply where he worked for 52 years. He also worked for Ennis Business Forms for 47 years. In his spare time, Atwell enjoyed hunting, fishing, and farming.

Atwell was a life-long member of the First Baptist Church of Ennis. Christ was the center of his life and he served Him through music the majority of his life.

Atwell is survived by two sons: Daniel and his wife Liz, Randy and his wife Kathy; Two daughters: Lisa and her husband Blaine Hunter, and Regina Mach; Grandchildren: Jessica, Drew, Nicole, Matt, Brooke, Chandler, and Christian; Great-Grandchildren: Aiden, Emery, Addison, Hudson, Atlas, Allison, Nolan, Libby, Knox, Boone, Abigail and Ridge.

Atwell is preceded in death by his mother, father, wife Wanda, son Terry Wayne, brothers Arlie and Dick, sisters Vera and Lola.

Pallbearers will be: Drew Ray, Matt Ray, Clay Major, Andy Dominguez, Felix Patlan, Michael Korthauer, Aiden Hunter, Atlas Korthauer and Clint Hill.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 3, 2022 from 1 p.m. until service time at 2 p.m. in the J. E. Keever Mortuary, Ennis, Texas. Interment will follow in Union Hill Cemetery, Bristol, Texas under the direction of J. E. Keever Mortuary, Inc.
