Thomas Odell Wilson, 74, passed away with his loved ones by his side on Saturday, October 2, 2021, in Ennis, Texas.

Odell was born in Corsicana, Texas on December 1, 1946, to William Ira and Odie (Bailey) Wilson.  He grew up in Ennis and graduated from Ennis High School in 1963.  On October 8, 1965, he married the love of his life Jean Kubala and they made their home in Ennis.  Odell served his country proudly in the United States Army serving as a Medic.

Odell worked for Ennis Business Forms for 15 years in the Carbon Department and for Southern Pacific Railroad for 30 years as a Signal Man.  He was a member of the American Legion and Jaycees of Ennis.

When he wasn't spending time with his family on the farm, he enjoyed fishing and shooting pool.  Odell was a season ticket holder at Lions Memorial Stadium where he loved cheering on his beloved Ennis Lions.  Odell proudly served as an Elder at the First Presbyterian Church of Ferris.

Odell leaves behind his beloved family including his wife of almost fifty-six years, Jean Wilson; daughters: Brandy Lassetter and husband, Scott and Latisha McElyea and husband, William; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; son-in-law, Roger Knight; brother, Ricky Joe Wilson and a host of extended family and friends that all loved him dearly.

He is preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Subrina Knight, sisters: Gwen Lamp, JoAnn Wilkerson and brother, Sidney Wilkerson.

Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, October 6, 2021, at 2 p.m. in Myrtle Cemetery with Jim Riley officiating under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Surbrina Knight Scholarship Foundation or the cancer organization of your choice.
