Troy Lynn Wilhite, age 81, passed away on June 7, 2026, with his family by his side.

Born on October 18, 1944, in Pittsburg, TX. He graduated from high school in Big Spring, TX. Troy met the love of his life, Regena Craker, at the age of 24 in Lone Star, TX. They were married on June 20, 1969. Troy lived a life marked by devotion to his Lord and family.

He started driving a truck at the age of 22 and never left the industry. After they raised their children, he and Regena drove trucks together until retirement. He loved everything about trucking and was even a truck-driving instructor at one point in his career.

Troy was known for his great sense of humor, spicy personality, and fabulous storytelling.

Family will remember him as their beloved Husband, Dad, and Poppy who always wanted to play with the grandkids and tell fractured fairy tales. The family will cherish the memories of Poppy's "World Famous Spaghetti" paired with his homemade "moon pie" and how he wanted to keep an immaculate yard. He touched the lives of many and will be deeply missed.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Lillian Wilhite.

He will leave behind his wife of 57 years, Regena Wilhite; daughter Gena Carol Solomon and husband Rodney of Ennis, TX; son Carl Ray Wilhite of Houston, TX; brother Doyce Wilhite and wife Luz of Albuquerque, NM. Grandchildren: Erin Solomon, Samantha Riser and husband Jacob, Zachary Solomon, Hannah Hensley and husband Duston. Great Grandchild Jolene Hensley.

A memorial service will be held on June 13, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at J.E. Keever Mortuary, Ennis, TX, followed by a procession to his final earthly resting place at Grady Cemetery in Bardwell, TX. We take comfort in knowing he is with his Lord and Savior. Family and Friends are invited to the visitation on Friday, June 12, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Church of Christ on Country Club Road, Ennis, TX.
