Vernon Glynn Tallant, 98, passed away on Thursday, November 3, 2022 surrounded by loved ones in Ennis, Texas.

Vernon was born in Emhouse, Texas, on May 13, 1924, to John William and Indiana Elizabeth (Dixon) Tallant. He grew up in Emhouse and attended school there. On July 18, 1948, Vernon married the love of his life Lois Jean Moore, and they made their home in Ennis. Vernon served his country proudly in the United States Navy during World War II in the Pacific Theater on the USS Guam.

Vernon began his working career as a salesclerk for Hesser's Drug Store then went on to be the Plant Supervisor for Leggett and Platt for forty years until he retired in 1989. Vernon was a member of the Baptist Church and Lakeside Country Club. Vernon enjoyed golf, RV Club gadabouts and any time he could be traveling. Family was always the joy of his life.

Vernon is survived by his loving wife of over seventy-four years, Lois Tallant; son, Ronald Tallant; daughter, Donna Cervantes; grandson, Jason Tallant and a host of extended family and friends.

Vernon is preceded in death by his parents and one brother, William Tallant.

Visitation will be held on Monday, November 7, 2022, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary of Ennis.

A Private family burial will be held in the Pattison Cemetery of Emhouse, Texas under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc.
