Walter Ray Lusk, 73, passed away peacefully on May 18, 2024, in Ennis, Texas.

He was born November 10, 1950 in Shallowater, Texas to Doyle and Esther Lusk. He was a 1969 graduate of Shallowater High School. He also graduated from Texas Tech University with an Agriculture degree in 1974.

He was a resident of Bristol, Texas for the last 5 years. Before that, he spent his life in Lubbock, Texas where he raised his children and owned and operated Courtesy Auto Sales.

Walter is preceded in death by his father, Doyle Lusk, his mother, Esther Lusk, his brothers, Newman and Harry Lusk.

He is survived by his son, Jay Lusk (Lacy Lusk), his daughter, Stephanie Lusk, his sister, Marie Lusk, his grandchildren, Cooper Lusk, Emie Lusk, Dylan Ostrander and Chelsea Ostrander and his great grandchildren.

He found the love of his life nearly 6 years ago. Walter and Janice Witherspoon had built a beautiful life together. She was by his side when he passed away.

Walter was funny and always laughing about something. He had an infectious laugh that will be missed. He was loved by his family and friends.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, June 1, 2024, at 10 a.m. in the Shallowater Methodist Church of Shallowater, Texas.

I have fought a good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day-and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.
