Walton Edgar Massey, 83, passed away in Tyler, Texas on Friday, July 2, 2021.

Walton was born in Lindale (Smith County) on February 27, 1938 to A.L. and Rosa Beatrice (Hawkins) Massey.  He attended school in Palmer, Texas.  Walton enlisted in the United States Navy on December 13, 1955 and served until September 3, 1974 where he was an aviation mechanic.  After his time in the Navy he went to work for A C Transit as part of the management team and retired in 1996. Walton married the love of his life, Wanda F. Wilson.

Walton was a member of the First Baptist Church of Palmer.  He enjoyed square dancing, RV'ing and any kind of traveling.

Walton is survived by his devoted and loving wife, Wanda Massey; daughters: Barbara Doyle and Jana Massey; step-son, Mark Wafer; step-daughter, Katrice Dlabaj; six grandchildren: eighteen great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; sisters: Elsie Murchison, Beatrice Wafer, Ruby Bennett, and Joyce Hocutt; brother, Raymond Massey along with a host of extended family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents and brothers: J.T. Massey, Jerry Massey and Bill Massey.

Memorial services will be held on August 7, 2021 at 10 a.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary Chapel in Palmer.
