Wanda Lee Stacks passed away Tuesday, August 20, 2024 with her family by her side.

She was born July 1, 1934, in Palmer, Texas, to Charles and Edna (Reed) Harper and was raised on a farm in Palmer. She attended school in Palmer, graduating from Palmer High School in 1951.

She married Clayton Neil Stacks on July 19, 1952.  They started a family shortly thereafter and raised their children in Palmer. Both were active members of the community holding various elected positions. Wanda worked for the City of Palmer for many years as the city secretary. She then worked for Palmer ISD as the school tax collector, where she retired.   Wanda was an active member of the First Methodist Church of Palmer. She was also a member of many bridge clubs in Palmer and in Ennis and she loved Texas Ranger baseball, crossword puzzles, playing bridge, and drinking sweet tea. Her pride and joy poodle, Bud, was her companion for 15 years.  Most of all she loved being Maw-Maw  to her grand children and great-grand children.

Survivors include sister Patsy Heard of Palmer, son Roger Stacks of Palmer and wife Vickie; daughter Nancy Stacks of Palmer; granddaughter Ericka Allen of Waxahachie and husband Donald; grandson Ryan Stacks of Palmer; grandson Bryan Usrey of Waxahachie and fiancé Kailea; granddaughter Amanda Cesaroni of Waxahachie and husband Scott. Wanda is also survived by her eight great-grandchildren, Jordyn, Charlie, Edee, Harper, Parker, Noah, Everly and Logan.

Wanda is preceded in death by her husband, Clayton Neil Stacks, sisters Mary Bailey and Margaret Walker and brothers Vernon Harper, CL Harper and Ralph Harper.

Serving as pallbearers will be Ryan Stacks, Bryan Usrey, Donald Allen, Charlie Allen, Scott Cesaroni and Danny Heard.

Visitation will be held on Monday, August 26 at 9:00 a.m. at the First Methodist Church in Palmer, service to follow at 10:00 a.m. with interment to follow at Palmer Cemetery under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc.
