Wayne Wolfe of Palmer, Texas passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 8, 2023, where he was surrounded by his family.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 12, 2023, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at J.E. Keever Mortuary in Palmer with the funeral service at 2 p.m. on Friday, January 13, 2023, at J Bar C Cowboy Church in Palmer, Texas. Burial will follow the service at Palmer Cemetery. Services will be officiated by Rev. Timmy Sparkman, husband of Wayne's granddaughter Kla, along with, Rev. Rodney Rickman and Brother Gary Miller of the Palmer Fundamental Baptist Church. Serving as pallbearers will be George Cook, Mark Currie, Scott Fulton, Billy Tom Fulton, Cal Wolfe, Judge Wolfe, Major Wolfe and Guy Yarbrough. Honorary pallbearers will be Ricky Cook and Tommy Cook.

Wayne was born in Ennis, Texas, on April 26, 1943, to Winifred Woodrow and Edna Ophelia Wolfe. He was a long-time resident of Ellis County. Wayne retired from Builders FirstSource after a successful career of over fifty years in the building materials industry. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend to many.

Anyone who knew Wayne knew how much he loved the outdoors and everything about it. He coached Chris and Gregg and Palmer youth in baseball from the time they could swing bats until they were in High School. His love for NASCAR was always a hot topic of debate….. especially concerning Dale Earnhart Jr. and for years he participated in skeet shooting at the DeSoto Gun Club. But, above all, Wayne loved spending time with his family more than anything in this world. Whether it was snow skiing in Red River, Elk hunting in Chama, New Mexico, deer hunting in West Texas, hanging out at the lake house at Cedar Creek, or just sitting in his recliner at his home in Palmer, there was always sure to be a crowd who were laughing and enjoying life around Wayne.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Winifred and Edna Wolfe.

Wayne is survived by his wife of fifty-eight years, Wanda Wolfe of Palmer; sons: Chris Wolfe and wife, Bobbie of Palmer, Gregg Wolfe and wife, Melissa of Palmer; grandchildren: Kla Sparkman and husband, Timmy, DeLaney Wolfe and Cal Wolfe, Judge Wolfe and Major Wolfe: great-grandchildren: Delta Sparkman, Truen Sparkman and Chisum Sparkman.

Services are under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Ennis, Texas.
