William Edwin Haisler, 89, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 9, 2022, in Waxahachie, Texas.

William was born November 11, 1932, in Tunis, Texas to William E. and Rosalie Zalmanek Haisler. He attended Happy Hill Grade school in Tunis and Snook High School until moving to Hill County in the fall of 1947. William graduated from Abbott High School in 1950 and then entered the United States Air Force. He proudly served 4 years during the Korean Conflict.

William worked for Ennis Business Forms from 1954 to 1980, where he met the love of his life, Lois Hall Haisler. They married on June 19, 1973, and lived in Ennis, Texas until retiring to Lake Palestine in 1980 where they enjoyed fishing and working together for the lake development where they lived.

William and Lois moved back to Ennis in 1994 to be near family and friends and to enjoy fishing the various lakes in the area.

Those who knew him remember him as a big personality, always with a joke and quick to laugh. William loved polka music, dancing, playing dominoes, and taroky.

William is survived by his son, Nolan E. Haisler and his wife, Deborah; his daughter, Rose Osborn and her husband, Mike; his daughter, Joan Slovak; his daughter, June Barrett and husband, Paul; his daughter, Rita Teague and her husband, Alfred, his daughter, Raven Wilson and her husband, Steve; his step-daughter, Susan Joslin and her husband, Randy; his step-daughter, Kathy Wright and her husband, Stan; his step-daughter, Linnea Svehlak and her husband, Jimmy; his grandchildren: Nolan, Jr., Julie, Galyn, Matthew, Kandi, Gina, Monte, Christy, Jodie, Anthony, Jason, Brian, Jessica, Jeremy, Michaela, Joshua, Wayde, Jayde, Wyatt, Jared, Jason, Jeremy, Justin, Jodi, John, Lisa, Katie, Ben, Melissa; his 32 great-grandchildren; his sisters, Marguerite Kasik and Rosemary Moore; and numerous nieces and nephews.

William is preceded in death by his wife, Lois Hall Haisler, his son, William Haisler and wife, Cathy; his stepsons: Johnny and Jimmy Julin; his step-granddaughter, Angela; and his brothers: Nelson and Norman Haisler, grandson, Tommy.

Visitation will take place on Friday, January 14, 2022, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary of Ennis.

Funeral Services will be held at J.E. Keever Mortuary of Ennis on Saturday, January 15, 2022, at 10 a.m. under the direction of J. E. Keever Mortuary.  Pallbearers will be Nolan Haisler, Jr., Jared Batchler, Ben Joslin, Joshua Teague, Chris Brumley and Jacob Brumley.

Graveside service and interment will be held in Myrtle Cemetery in Ennis, Texas under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc.
