William Joseph (Bill) Vitovsky, 84, passed away on Friday morning July 18, 2025, at the Bluebonnet Rehab Facility in Ennis, Texas.

Bill was born on December 28, 1940, in Ennis, Texas, to William Joe and Mary Slovak Vitovsky. Bill graduated from St. John Catholic School with the Class of 1959. He later was employed by the United States Postal Service for 40 years and retired at the age of 70.

On May 10, 2003, he married Irene Lanicek Valek at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church in Ennis.

Bill was a member of the SPSJT, KJT, Sokol and the Knights of Columbus. Bill loved to travel. He visited with his cousins in the Czech Republic. He enjoyed going to Rome, Israel and going on cruises, one being a reunion with his class of '59. He loved going to many places in Texas and visiting his stepdaughter and family in North and South Carolina.

Bill is survived by his wife, Irene; stepson, Brian Valek and stepdaughter, Jennifer and her husband, Gary Wright, Jr. He is also survived by 3 grandchildren: Kayla Wright Turner and her husband Christian Turner, Makena Wright, and Garon Wright and a great-grandson, Greyson Turner.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his first wife, Jo Ellen Valek Vitovsky.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 24, 2025, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. with a Rosary to be said at 7 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary of Ennis.

The Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrating Bill's life will be held at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church at 10 a.m. on July 25, 2025, with Father John Dick as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc.

Pallbearers will be Dr. Michael Robinson, Vince Waymire, Lance Hickman, Christian Turner, Jerry Rejcek and Don Salik.
