Jack D. Vineyard, 82, passed away in Ennis, Texas on Wednesday, July 2, 2014.

Jack was born in Whitewright, Texas on July 7, 1931 to Willard R. and Effie May (Edens) Vineyard. He grew up in Whitewright and Bells, Texas and graduated from Bells High School in 1950. On October 13, 1950 he married Valeta May Jernigan and they made their home in Sherman, then to Bells and finally to Ennis in 1959.

Jack was the store manager for The Automotive from 1951 to 1966 when he became owner of Vineyard's Auto Supply until 2014. He was a member of the Tabernacle Baptist Church, the Optimist Club and IOOF.

He is survived by his wife, Valeta May Vineyard; sons: Greg Vineyard and wife, Linda and Brent Vineyard and wife, Norma; daughters: Karla Vineyard and Dana Cordsen and husband, Rod; seven grandchildren: six great-grandchildren: three brothers: Merville Vineyard, Harold Vineyard and Jerry Vineyard and one sister, Billie West.

He is preceded in death by his parents, one brother, James Vineyard and two sisters, Vonda Riley and Modine Vineyard.

Visitation will be on Monday, July 7, 2014 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary of Ennis. A Celebration of his life will take place on Tuesday, July 8, 2014 at 2 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary Chapel of Ennis. Interment will be on Wednesday, July 9, 2014 at 11 a.m. in Rose Hill Cemetery of Bells, Texas under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc.
