Lajuan Schlegel, 87, passed away in Ennis, Texas on Monday, January 6, 2020.

Lajuan was born in Mt. Enterprise, Texas on November 29, 1932 to Hubert and Velma (Owens) Sanders.  She grew up in Mt. Enterprise and graduated from Mt. Enterprise High School.  On January 10, 1960 she married James Schlegel and they made their home in Ennis.

Lajuan worked with her husband at Schlegel Jewelry and was an extraordinary Bluebonnet Oil Painting artist.  She was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church and the Ennis Art Club.  Lajuan's family was the joy of her life and painting was very close behind.

Lajuan is survived by her husband of almost sixty years, James Schlegel; son, Allen Schlegel and wife, Traci; grandchildren: Bret, Brittni and Mandi; great-grandchildren: Chasady, Talen, Jayden and Graysen; a sister, Eunice Evans; niece, Brenda Gartrell; great-nephews: Jeff and John along with a host of extended family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, a son, Jimmy Schlegel and a brother.

Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, January 14, 2020 at 1 p.m. at Tabernacle Baptist Church of Ennis.
